Permanent Residency Application: IP2 stage

IP2 or Background check in Progress

February 27, 2018, 5:25 pm, we just arrived in the hotel from our Group Orientation Session of Planning for Canada when we learned that the background check is updated or what commonly called  as Permanent Residency Application: IP2 stage. As a routine Fritz check his GCKey account and no update yet. But he overlooked to refresh the page. So that means it was still the screen when he opened the account in the morning.

Not knowing that Fritz already check the CIC account, I myself also check for any updates. I just left the phone in the table while I freshen up. Because the internet connection was a little bit slow and we were in hurry for we will be going to the mall. To my astonishment, Fritz shouted for joy to see an update with our permanent residency application. At first I thought Fritz was just making fun of me.  But as I checked it, the Background Check Status is: “We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.”

Unlike the previous updates with our application,  the details in the profile was still submitted instead of updated.

Permanent Residency Application: IP2 stage

It was presumed that during IP2 stage the application was already transferred at the Local Visa Office. In our case is the Manila Visa Office. Based on the experiences of the previous applicants, PPR mail may come within hours or a month after the application is in the IP2 stage.  I know someone that it only took a day for her to receive the PPR mail. But her LVO is Singapore.  There are times that the application will be randomly chosen for security screening. If your file will be chosen it will be delayed for months.

Since we were on travel and busy with our schedule, it was only after two days I was able to read all the messages in my WhatsApp. It was only on March 1, 2018 I was able to read and replied all the messages of my friends in WhatsApp. On the other hand, there was a little bit of commotion among some applicants. Because it was a massive number of IP2 change  that even some suspected that it was a system glitched. But for us we are positive that it was not a system glitched and we are praying and hoping to receive the PPR (Passport Request) mail soon.
